The United States Chamber of Commerce

The United States Chamber of Commerce is the worlds largest business organization that represents the interest of over 3 million businesses in various parts of the country. The Chamber of Commerce supports businesses of various structures and sizes including mom-and-pop shops to some of the largest companies and corporations in the world. The Chamber was started in April 22, 1912 during the presidency of William Howard Taft.

The Chamber of Commerce outlines three main functions of advocacy, resources and leadership for busineses. Working with volunteers the Chamber’s mission is “to strengthen the competitiveness of the U.S. economy” by focusing on areas such as education and workforce, capital markets, labor, economy and taxes and health care. Next, the U.S. Chamber advocates to ensure that members of the Chamber have resources at their fingertips to be aware of policy information, news, marketing tools, and networking opportunities and events. Finally, the U.S. Chamber advances interest of business owners through its leadership team of lobbyist and policy experts that help craft pro-business legislation and block excessive taxes and registration.
