Douglas Development announced that it has purchased a new mixed-use property in Chinatown DC, located at 700 5th St., NW, behind the Verizon Center. The 10,000 SF building includes 3 levels of office space and 4,000 SF of street level retail. The retailer—known for its shoes and bags with a gold circle with a T-shaped flourish in the center—is on the Old Georgetown Board agenda for storefront renovations and a new sign at 1211 Wisconsin Ave. NW. It started two years ago with only 55 businesses, but now BNotes are all grown up. The homegrown Baltimore currency is celebrating two years this month, having nearly quadrupled its base to 200 Baltimore-area firms. Avison Young has applied for a permit for a new office building with three levels of underground parking at the intersection of North Fairfax Drive and North Polland Street, three blocks west of the Virginia Square-GMU Metro station, according to Arlington County permit records. Clyde's of Columbia re-opened Monday after undergoing $4 million in renovations over the past three months.
