Northern Virginia Nonprofit Provides A Glimpse to Virginia's History [VIDEO]

Andrea McGimsey, the executive director of Oatlands Inc. located right on in Leesburg, Virginia,  discusses the history of Oatlands Historical House and events and programs that the nonprofit holds to bring the community together to learn history and “enjoy life.” While Oatlands is used for corporate picnics, weddings, parties, paranormal tours and horse races, the mansion and farmland has over 200 years of American history including being the estate of Mr. and Mrs. William Corcoran Eustis and being established during the 19th century by George Carter. A National Trust Historical Site and a National Historic Landmark, Oatlands has about 10,000 people tour the mansion and garden and about 30,000 attend events and programs every year. Oatlands is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. The last tour of each day is at 4pm.
