From around the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area comes the latest business news and announcements. Beginning on February 18th the D.C. area will be having business events to assist owners and entrepreneurs with learning and networking. Events such as Twitter 101 and starting a small business will be held during the week. From the pen of George Washington come some words of wisdom about debt and taxes, for those interested in hearing from our first president check it out. Recently released is The Graduate Catalogue for University of Maryland listing their graduate programs for Fall ’12 to Spring ‘13. Ebrahim Rasool, South Africa’s Ambassador to the US, delivered the inaugural lecture of the Ambassador Lecture Series at Howard University’s Center for Global Business Studies. The theme of his inaugural lecture was “Opportunities and Challenges of Doing Business in South Africa.” The University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business has launched a massive open online course partnering with entrepreneurs and non-profits. The course will give real world experience and give the opportunity for students to analyze actual entrepreneurial and nonprofit ventures. Virginia’s Heritage Trail has been completed as announced by Del. Chris Peace, D-Hanover. The trial focuses on the history of Virginia and the newest addition goes beyond to focus also on the history of the east coast as well.
