From around the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area comes the latest business news and announcements. Neil Thomas doesn’t care what people call his hats, as long as they’re buying them from his seven-month-old startup. Local Suds, which created a mobile app that  a beer availability database, last month added a service called Shop Local. The new tool lets restaurants target beer-drinkers with discounted food offers. Shane’s Rib Shack, an Atlanta-based barbecue chain, on Tuesday opened its first Richmond area location. It sits at 11501 Busy St. in the Courthouse Crossing shopping center, across the street from a Virginia Barbeque location. Arcuri, the Glover Park restaurant taking over the former Kavanagh's space at 2400 Wisconsin Avenue NW, will have a soft opening later this week and a grand opening June 22. Arlington-based and Brazilian-born designer Emily Gonzaga hosted her brand's first headline show in the DC region at the Georgetown waterfront Jun 12. Pinstripes, the restaurant cum bowling alley cum bocce venue, is now hiring for its new Georgetown location in the Shops at Georgetown Park.
