LaVida Massage—an innovative wellness concept in massage for the family—is investing in the health of Woodbridge and surrounding communities in this new year, with the opening of the first massage-centric wellness center in the area. Under the stewardship of long-time Woodbridge resident, Joe Denney, LaVida is adding jobs and focusing a great portion of the center’s business on therapeutic massage as an alternative health medicine modality—a well-fit service for the area given its strong fitness and wellness-based presence. “Working-class adults aren’t the only ones who need stress relief these days–massage benefits everyone. I want to help spread the notion of massage as an alternative to medicine, and as an important part of athletic and fitness training,” Denney says. “It is for this reason I was drawn to LaVida to contribute health and wellness to the already active community—it’s not the typical spa atmosphere.” Located inside the Cheshire Station Plaza in the heart of an athletic and health club hub within the community, the center marks the first massage-centric wellness center in Woodbridge, and the third LaVida center in Virginia. Additionally, LaVida hopes to add jobs to Woodbridge! Denney hopes to add about 10 positions to the center including therapists, receptionists and aestheticians in the coming months.
