According to a survey from American Express OPEN, small businesses are working harder to secure government contracting opportunities – in 2010, active small business contractors invested an average of $103,827 seeking federal contracting opportunities, an increase of 21% from the previous year.
To help small business owners make meaningful connections with government buyers and experienced contractors, American Express OPEN is hosting a free event in Washington D.C. on Friday, June 15. The event, “Grow your Business through Government Contracting,” will be held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Attending business owners will have access to:
- Insights from top government officials, including Ana Harvey from the Small Business Administration, Mark Oliver from the Department of the Interior OSDBU and more
- VIP Contract Connections: one-on-one meetings with federal, state and local government buyers and large prime contractors – matches are based on small business’ capabilities and agencies/primes’ requirements
- Interactive workshops to give business owners the tools they need to succeed in government contracting on various topics such as “Current Legislation Affecting Government Contractors”, “Mastering the GSA Schedule”, “Social Media for Effective Government Contracting”, “Developing Effective Teaming Relationships”, and much more
- Networking opportunities with government officials, procurement officers, other small business owners and experienced contractors
An upcoming event gives attendees the connections and resources they need to land government contracts.
