From around the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area comes the latest business news and announcements. Pedal Pops RVA sells homemade ice pops from cooler-loaded bicycles. The business is a side project for Sara Williamson, 28, and Frank Bucalo, 30. The pair met in April 2012 at Feast RVA, a fundraising event for entrepreneurs. The Sports Center of Richmond, known as SCOR, recently unveiled a 3,000-square-foot sports bar and lounge addition to its eight-acre campus near the Diamond. Dance Trance DC celebrated the grand opening of its second location in the Balance Gym at the Fairmont Hotel with a “Keeping It Classy” cocktail party in the hotel’s courtyard Tuesday night. A new gastropub recently opened on The University of Maryland University College's campus as a part of the Marriott Inn and Conference Center, according to a press release from UMUC. Breathe Books has expanded the business to include a café. The new Breathe Books Café debuted on Friday, and now offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and Ayurvedic sweets, savories and soups. Gaithersburg's Crown development has added another fine dining destination to its lineup: Ruth's Chris Steak House.
