- Maryland Innovation Initiative awards $300000 in grants (Baltimore Business Journal) – The initiative is a partnership between the state and five academic research universities: University of Maryland, College Park; University of Maryland, Baltimore County; University of Maryland, Baltimore; Johns Hopkins University; and Morgan State.
- Entrepreneurs east of the Anacostia share space at the Hive 2.0 (On Small Business) – HIVE2.0: A new tech incubator east of the river, ARCH Development Corporation, a nonprofit focusing on Anacostia, opened the HIVE 1.0 for small businesses two years ago but reached capacity and opened a second location (HIVE 2.0, which has financial support from Capital One).
