Howard University School of Business has teamed up with Cincinnati-based Sherpa Coaching to offer a certificate program in executive coaching. The course is based on the text, The Sherpa Guide: Process-Driven Executive Coaching by authors Brenda Corbett and Judith Colemon. Maryland added 6,700 jobs in January, led by the private sector and holding the state’s unemployment rate at 6.7 percent for the third consecutive month. The U.S. Small Business Administration has opened two new business centers in Virginia. The centers offer counseling, networking events, training, technical assistance and mentoring to women interested in starting and growing their businesses. Maryland received a failing grade in health care price transparency from two industry nonprofit organizations. Maryland was among 29 states to get an “F.” Only two states, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, received top marks.
